Rose Elixer Avena Botanicals Sacred Moon Herbs Dripping Springs Texas Herbalist

I’ve had the pleasure of taking several classes with her over the last few years at the Women’s Herbal Conference in NH. She is so very soft spoken & gentle & kind.  She is a voice for the plants.  I was lucky enough to have my east coast herbalist friend Rebecca drive us up to Avena Botanical a few years ago before the conference. What a beautiful, magickal place to visit.  There are gardens everywhere with large weeping willow trees to teach classes under & trails to walk on with statues around every corner.  Here the herbs are hand picked by Deb & her staff and then created into tinctures, elixirs, creams & more. We are happy to say we are carrying more & more of their sacred hand harvested medicines at Moon. The Rose Elixir has been my “go to” for heart breaks long before Sacred Moon ever even was thought of. It’s always in my medicine cabinet & the first thing I do when I get a call someone I love has been hurt or has died.  I used to take this as “emergency heart break medicine” until I learned more about the rose plant.  As life & the world seems even more crazy than in the past to me, I’ve learned to use this rose medicine as a daily love tonic. On a normal day I use a dropper full in the mornings. Sometimes on harder days, I use it after work or before laying down to sleep. You can hold the bottle up & see the pretty pink hue that has been extracted from the rose petals.  It’s a rosy, sweet taste that most everyone falls in love with.  Here’s how Deb describes it: ”

About Rose Petal Elixir: The lovely rose garden at Avena’s biodynamic farm is a peaceful and magical place to work and visit. The flowers are filled with buzzing bees, busy collecting sweet nectar and rolling around in the yellow pollen. It’s such a joy to watch these special pollinators and to breathe in the fragrance of the flowers which dispel physical and mental fatigue and uplift the spirit. Visitors enjoy this meditative space to sit and soak in the stillness of the garden. It is here that the gardeners gently harvest, in the early morning light, large baskets of fragrant rose petals. These petals are immediately placed in an organic glycerin and organic alcohol solution, where their soft pink color and medicinal properties are infused. This extraordinary elixir relaxes the nervous system, eases feelings of impatience and agitation associated with PMS and menopause, comforts a sad heart, and inspires a feeling of love and compassion for oneself and others. Roses soothe and support the digestive system, cool emotional heat and inflammation related to women’s reproductive health, and fill the heart with harmony and peace.”
